Always a step ahead: Tamaris opens first store in Slowakia

The Tamaris system partnership, which has been established on the market for more than ten years, is one of the fastest-growing area concepts in the shoe sector.

Recently, Europe’s number one shoe brand made the leap into Slowakia, represented with a single-brand store in the Shopping Center Central Bratislava. Operated by franchise partner Tailor’s s.r.o., the store presents the world of the popular shoe brand on a total area of 75m².

With 9 shops the partner Tailor’s s.r.o. have great experience with different brands for women, men and children. Because of the 8 years cooperation with the Wortmann-Group, Tamaris is a big name for owner Mr. and Mrs. Szabo. They already have Gino Rossi as an attractive concept and with Tamaris they want to establish another one.
Tamaris has been very successful in Hungary and the Czech Republic so Mrs. Szabo is convinced, that the system partnership with the Tamaris brand will be a good performing concept in Slowakia, too.

In the previous fiscal year, 2014/15 (31st May), the Detmold-based Wortmann Group achieved sales of EUR 1,016 million (previous year: EUR 1,013 million). With a pair volume of 51.3 million pairs in the current fiscal year, of which 31.8 million were in the fashion segment and 19.5 million in the standard segment, the Wortmann Group is among Europe’s largest shoe production and sales companies. As well as the top brand Tamaris, the corporation also includes the brands Marco Tozzi, Caprice, Jana and s.Oliver shoes brands. These are joined in Asia by Novi Footwear Fareast Ltd. The Group currently employs a total of 1,154 staff internationally (previous year 1,114), 732 of whom are in Europe. Around 30,000 people work in production for the Detmold-based corporation around the world. Wortmann Group shoes are sold in over 70 countries and more than 15,000 shoe shops worldwide.
