Collection première Moscow – a Russian success story
Next year’s CPM (Collection Première Moscow) will be the 20th edition of this trade fair platform. Another record participation is expected for the show days between 26 February and 1 March 2013. The CPM trade show was first organised by Igedo in the Expocentre halls in the heart of Moscow in September 2003. At the time, the small event was only organised on 9,800 m² in four exhibition halls. But the demand for exhibition space increased rapidly.

In September 2006, the ‘CPM kids’ segment was added, and ‘CPM Premium’ was introduced in February 2007. They were followed in September 2011 by the launch of the ‘Fashion&Denim’ area. At the last CPM event, the ‘Body&Beach’ area was extended. With more than 54,000 m² of exhibition space and more than 19,200 trade visitors, CPM is the biggest and most important order and information show in Russia.

“Getting to the top position is one thing. Staying in the lead is something else”, says Christian Kasch, the Project Manager. “We have a very lively exchange with our exhibitors and try to continually re-implement requests and suggestions in the context of current market analyses. These efforts are supported by strong partners like Messe Düsseldorf or ITMM and Messe Düsseldorf Moscow”, adds Christian Kasch.

And the upcoming event with known areas of competence in its individual segments will again inspire and set the scene for trade buyers. Bloggers from the Russian ‘The Look’ agency will send their up-to-the-minute posts about shows, seminars and trends. Get-togethers in the Body&Beach area, after the tradeshow closes on the second day, and in the evening of the third day in the Fashion&Denim area enable a continued networking. In view of the CPM anniversary, exhibitors have also planned many actions for its 20th edition.

In the run-up to the trade fair, roundtable discussions in Ukraine and Latvia with representatives of the press, the specialist trade and designers support the promotion effort for CPM. Mirjam Dietz, Head of International Brand Development & Communications at Igedo, says: “The analysis of the visitor profile of our trade fair tells us that there is a growing number of specialist buyers from the St Petersburg metropolitan area in Russia coming to Moscow, after they attended our roundtables in Russia’s North West. By engaging in a continuous personal dialogue with the Russian trade and the press and in other CIS States, we boost the significance and the awareness of CPM. The market is changing continuously and shows a lot of potential.”

The next CPM – Collection Première Moscow will be held at the Expocentre exhibition grounds in Moscow from Tuesday, 26 February, until Friday, 1 March 2013
