The April PoS Show – More than a Blip on Your Radar?

The 19th and 20th of April are the dates for the next Point of Shoes event – high time to note this major happening in your diary if you haven’t already done so. Why? Because this time the venue promises to pack even more punch: First because the April PoS meeting will feature not only materials and components but also a wide range of machines. And secondly because April’s Key Topic appears to have scored a bull’s-eye and has already generated a huge response: It reads "Lean, Clean, Sustainable – Shaping the Footwear Industry of the Future". Come along, stay informed, have your say!

Firm bookings by 72 exhibitors were received by the January 31st deadline, meaning record participation at April PoS 2011. The very last three stands are still up for grabs, and once they have gone every last square meter of exhibition space will have been booked. The April exhibition will take place in Hall 6A – the space available could be greatly increased by relocating the logistics facilities from the rear section of the hall to the next-lower level.
All PoS exhibitors will therefore be together in Hall 6A, which has been warmly welcomed by all concerned.

April PoS to Explicitly Embrace Machines

For the very first time in April 2011, PoS will also explicitly include machines. This will be repeated every two years during the spring PoS event and is intended to set a rhythm matching the development cycles of the machine manufacturers, who are able to show genuine innovations or at least significant developments and improvements at two-yearly intervals.

Precisely the aspect of sustainability (see the following section "Focus on Sustainability") is frequently also a criterion for innovation in mechanical engineering.

Klöckner Desma, Dürkopp, Pfaff, Golden Wheel, Molina & Bianchi, Leibrock will all be present, to mention just a few; PoS provides an ideal opportunity for you to examine the latest developments and ask your questions.

Focus on Sustainability

Lean, Clean, Sustainable – Shaping the Footwear Industry of the Future",  is the title of our Lecture Programme in April, and we consider the selected topics to be truly impressive: We shall gain an insight into how a big global player such as adidas approaches the topic of social and environmental affairs, and also hear which sustainability strategies are appropriate for small and medium sized enterprises. We shall see what sustainability-relevant developments suppliers have in the pipeline for footwear and leather goods manufacturers and hear about what a social auditor can experience and the difference he or she can actually make.
