Innovations for Hiking Footwear

ImageJACK WOLFSKIN proudly present two new sole units developed for their new hiking footwear and outdoor sandals. The ACTIVE TRAIL and the DOS TIERRAS soles are characterised by their harmonic roll-off performance and deliver best possible cushioning at a low intrinsic weight.

The core component of these versatile and flexible soles is the MOTION GUIDE, which is integrated into the sole to provide improved stability. The MOTION GUIDE is a 3D shaped, ‘skeleton’ structured TPU element implanted between the outsole and midsole. It guides and controls the natural biomechanical movement of the foot without adding significantly to the weight and stabilises the strike and roll-off phases.

ROCK FACE

Developed by JACK WOLFSKIN for their hiking footwear, the robust ACTIVE TRAIL sole also benefits from an extremely light and flexible rubber compound outsole unit that gives optimised traction and grip, durability and comfort. The anatomically preshaped EVA midsole provides outstanding cushioning and features an integrated SHOCK ABSORB element in the heel section. The shock absorb function is enhanced by the removable footbed, which incorporates an additional shock pad in the heel region.

COMPETITION

On two models, the anatomically shaped footbed features an anti-bacterial CIRCULINER PLUS lining that limits the formation of unpleasant odours. The lightweight construction and high breathability materials used make the new hiking footwear the perfect solution for hiking on easy terrain and in warm, summery conditions.

AIR RACE

The JACK WOLFSKIN Summer 2007 footwear range includes three new, super-lightweight hiking solutions equipped with the ACTIVE TRAIL sole: the waterproof ROCK FACE, with a high breathability TEXAPORE O3 membrane; the ultra-light and airy AIR RACE, with uppers in light, water repellent AIR MESH; and the COMPETITION, which features protective heel and toe caps. The ROCK FACE and COMPETITION models also feature an anti-bacterial CIRCULINER PLUS lining to combat the formation of unpleasant odours and the signature HEEL FIT PRO system, which provides a snug fit and prevents heel slippage.

SEA SHORE

An in-house JACK WOLFSKIN development, the DOS TIERRAS sole features on four new models of outdoor sandals designed for both water and land-based activities. The sole is the toughest sandal sole in the entire JACK WOLFSKIN programme and delivers the best grip. It exhibits the same structural construction as the ACTIVE TRAIL sole, the same controlled, balanced biomechanical movement and top-notch shock absorb performance. The footbed of the DOS TIERRAS is anti-bacterial treated and supports the cushioning performance of the EVA midsole.

ROCK SANDAL

The SEASHORE is the leading model of sandal for outdoor and water sports activities. It consists of synthetic nubuck leather backed with neoprene. The strap design and the individual adjustment options deliver a snug, supportive
fit and superb wear comfort. The full leather, closed unit outdoor sandal, the ROCK SANDAL is built for comfort and features an antibacterial treated EVA footbed. Meanwhile, the long-running success story, the OCEANSIDE, receives a sole unit upgrade for the coming season and is now equipped with the DOS TIERRAS sole.
